Financing Subsidies-Incentives-Tax breaks
We have known for quite some time the environmental benefits of solar and alternative forms of fuel. In addition to these there are many financial incentives. Solar energy is much cheaper to use those traditional forms of energy. Although the initial outlay for the panels and equipment can be steep, it is estimated that the system will pay for itself within 5-7 years in terms of substantially reduced energy bills. For those that can afford it, solar and alternative energy is defiantly worth it.
Many would love to jump on board and make their homes more environmentally friendly. However, as mentioned previously, the initial outlay for these projects is quite steep. It is quit often beyond the financial capabilities of many families. Fortunately the federal government and well as states and other organizations do make funds available for energy saving improvements. These apply to several types of energy and help make a greener future possible.

The federal government does offer tax credits for solar panels. Up until December 31st 2007 anyone who places solar panels in their home is allowed to write off 30% of the costs in the form of a tax credit. There is a 2000 dollar tax credit limit in this program. For those that want to make further energy saving costs, a further 30% up to 2000 dollars can be claimed for the installation of solar hot water heaters. These are actual tax credits not deductions. They come directly off the tax bill and reduce costs significantly.
To save further money, one then needs to look at the individual state options for energy saving devices. These do vary greatly between the states but the good news is that all 50 states offer something in the way of financial subsidies, incentives and tax breaks. These can still be claimed over and above the federal programs. One may find that their solar energy panels are virtually paid for when they factor in all of the different ways to help with funding.
Those that do not look into alternative forms of fuel due purely to costs are likely giving up to easily. The federal government, state and local authorities offer several financial subsidies, incentives and tax breaks to fund energy saving and greener fuel. All it takes is some time and research to find out what is out there.
