Solar House

The solar house is not a new concept. There are several worldwide that have been in existence for several years. The solar house is one of the most energy efficient houses in the world. Everything in it is natural. It is powered from the sun and made from the most energy efficient and natural materials available. Having a completely solar house may be slightly beyond the scope of may budjets, however there are things that can be done to current homes to make them more like a solar house.

It may sound like a huge undertaking but switching to solar power is a good way to get started. The initial start up costs are quite steep. However, this system will soon pay for itself. With the reduced costs in energy bills the panels and equipment will have paid for themselves within 5-7 years. There are also several federal and state tax credits for installing solar power. These can be quite substantial and make a huge dent in the costs.

Solar powered homes run just as efficiently as those that are fueled in more traditional methods. They are cheaper in the long run and can exist anywhere. Solar houses do not have to be built in areas where there is constant sun. A solar house can run just fine in wetter, darker climates. Any energy that is created by the sun and solar panels can be stored. This is quite literally saving for a rainy day.

Many can save and possibly make money using solar power. Solar houses can quite easily create more energy than they need. This surplus can be first stored or sometimes sold to local utility companies. This will usually appear as a credit on the utility bill. However, some areas are actually paying out for the energy created by a solar house.

A solar house is nothing new. They have been in existence for decades. They are very efficient and can save money in the long run. If one is clever they can actually make money by selling off their surplus energy.
