Solar Photovoltaic Systems

With all of the talk about global warming and ozone depletion, many are looking to chuck in the old fossil fuels for alternative methods of power. One of these methods is solar energy. Solar energy is very efficient and can work in a variety of climates. Even the gloomy north can function well from solar power because the energy is stored. The key is getting the right system.

Solar Photovoltaic Systems are groups of panels made of silicon that convert sunlight into energy. Solar Photovoltaic Systems are used in many different ways but primarily to provide electricity to homes. So, what are Solar Photovoltaic Systems panels? These are panels made up of solar cells or photovoltaic cells which in turn are made of a moncrystaline silicon wafer. These cells then convert light energy into electricity.

One then could ask, what is Solar Photovoltaic power? This is the most popular form of solar power .Sunlight is converted to electricity by the photons in the sunlight passing through and being absorbed by the photovoltaic cells in the Solar Photovoltaic panels and thus agitating the electrons found in them. This then causes a current to form which is them transferred from the Solar Photovoltaic panels in the pv solar system via wires to solar pv collectors or to the electrical system of the house where it can then be use by appliances and other household electrical equipment.

Solar Photovoltaic Systems are used in a wide variety of situations: it can be used as part of the grid generation system; used to power homes, especially where there is plenty of sunlight and is commonly used on a small scale to power calculators.
Solar Photovoltaic Systems can be made up of photovoltactic shingles which are small panels made to assume the traditional pattern of asphalt shingles thus making the array more pleasing to the eye.

It is estimated that at current trends, the polar ice caps will be gone in 50 years. The more homes that switch to solar energy, the fewer carbon emissions escape into the atmosphere. This reduced the damage to the air as well as the environment. Solar Photovoltaic systems could be the way forward. They can run our homes without damaging the planet.
