Types Of PV Systems
Today it seems that we are facing a global catastrophe if we do not cut carbon emissions quite soon. Our burning of fossil fuels could cause the Earth irreversible damage if we don’t make some serious changes quite soon. One alternative that has been around for quite some time is solar energy. Using energy from the sun and storing it can cut carbon emissions as well as our fuel costs. Solar energy and power is quite interesting and complex when one looks into it. There are three different types of pv systems. The first one of the Types of PV Systems being a Grid Inter-tied system. This is where the energy in the sunlight is converted into electricity and used as the main source of power for the house or building but also you will have the normal electrical grid as a backup for those days when there is very little or no sunlight. This type of system makes even the extreme Northern states compatible for solar energy.

Another of the more popular types of PV Systems is a where it is still linked to the main grid but it also has a battery back up. This also converts the energy from the suns light into electricity but any electricity that is generated that is not used will be sent to a special battery that can store it all and then be used when there is no light or the amount of light is too low for the system to generate power. This is the most frequently used of the Types of PV Systems. Depending on the area, some companies will buy the surplus power back from the household adding to further savings.
Another of the Types of PV Systems is the Off Grid Photovoltaic System. This PV system will also converts the energy in the suns light to electricity but the system is not joined to the main grid. These are handy for independent homes that want to go solar.
Those who believe that there is no alternative to fossil fuels could not be more wrong. With the various types of PV systems, homes can run efficiently be cost effective as help save the planet. Fuel costs will drop as will the damage to the planet.
